Sam and Sam's Wedding at Kings Hill Golf Club
Sam and Sam tied the knot on a stunning spring afternoon at St Lawrence’s Church in Mereworth. When I first met-up with these guys, one thing they mentioned was the beauty of this church and you can see from the shots below, it was absolutely stunning! Adding to this, the Vicar was one of the nicest I’ve met to date!

After the service, everyone headed around the corner to Kings Hill Golf Club, where Sam is an active member (he recently won one of their competitions).
To finish the perfect day, we headed out on a golf buggy to capture some relaxed shots as the sun set over the course.
Here are a few of my favourite frames from the day:
Hannah and Ben's Wedding at Reach Court Farm
Hannah and Ben held their special day at Reach Court Farm, a stunning venue nestled in the quaint village of St. Margaret’s-at-Cliffe, situated between Deal and Dover.
Hannah and Ben held their special day at Reach Court Farm, a stunning venue nestled in the quaint village of St. Margaret’s-at-Cliffe, situated between Deal and Dover.
In the lead up to the wedding, and throughout the morning itself, the weather forecast projected a day of wind and rain and to everyone’s delight, it managed to stay away for the whole day!
This allowed these guys to hold their service outdoors in the idyllic gardens, followed by the reception being held in the main marquee.
This was truly an amazing wedding to cover, full of emotion and love!
Here are a few of my fav frames from the day.
Hayley and Chris' Pre-Wedding Shoot at Lyminge Forest
I caught up with Hayley and Chris on a stunning spring’s evening at Lyminge Forest. These guys wanted a woodland location for their pre-wedding shoot and this proved to the ideal spot, with plenty of open space and the golden sun peaking through the trees.
We went for a wander through the forest, pausing at some scenic spots to capture some relaxed portraits of these guys.
I had a great time with these two and can’t wait to capture their big day in early 2024! In the meantime, here are a few of my favourite frames.
Suzanne and Andrew - Mount Ephraim Gardens Wedding
On a stunning spring day (despite the weather forecasts promising rain), Andrew and Suzanne held their wedding at Mount Ephraim Gardens; a stunning venue located between Faversham and Whitstable.
On a stunning spring day (despite the weather forecasts promising rain), Andrew and Suzanne held their wedding at Mount Ephraim Gardens; a stunning venue located between Faversham and Whitstable.
Starting at Mount Ephraim for bridal prep, these guys told the knot at St. Alphege Church based down Whitstable High Street.
Following the formalities, these guys travelled in style to Mount Ephraim for the reception, with Spencer Wood Magic keeping everyone entertained.
To finish off the perfect day, we managed to get a few shots during the last moments on golden hour, overlooking the Kent countryside.
Here are a few of my favourite moments!
Kayley & James - St. Augustines Wedding
Kayley and James held their big day at St. Augustines in Westgate-on-Sea, an absolutely stunning venue! Despite the rain (and it rained a lot), this wedding was an absolute blast to cover, with so much love being present in the room!

“We recently had Matt as our wedding photographer. He was incredible right from the very start and we have already recommended him to several others. He made us feel confident and comfortable in the pre-wedding shoot. Then, a pre-wedding meeting proved how much research and interest he had taken in to our venue! We were overwhelmed. Finally, the wedding day ran so smoothly with his ability to move things on and think on his feet when it was raining. He captured moments of our day that we didn’t see and we will always cherish the photos that he has given us! The turn around between the wedding day and receiving our album was quicker than we could have imagined. Matt is BRILLIANT!”
Here are a few of my favourite moments from the day.
Elinor and Rory's Pre-Wedding Shoot at Dungness Beach
On what felt like the windiest place in Kent at the time, I caught up with Rory and Elinor at Dungness Beach (unofficially ‘Britain’s only desert’).
On what felt like the windiest place in Kent at the time, I caught up with Rory and Elinor at Dungness Beach (unofficially ‘Britain’s only desert’).
This spot is not only iconic for the abandoned boats, fishing huts and lighthouses, but was a place which was special to both Rory and Elinor.
Thankfully the rain held off for just enough time for a chilled walk across the beach, capturing some relaxed shots along the way.
Hannah and Ben's pre-wedding shoot at Tankerton Beach
I caught-up with Hannah and Ben on a wintery March afternoon along Tankerton seafront, just past Whitstable.
I caught-up with Hannah and Ben on a wintery March afternoon along Tankerton seafront, just past Whitstable.
With the iconic colourful beach huts and the pebbly beach, I spent some time with these guys capturing a series of natural and relaxed shots.
The rain just held off long enough for a quick walk over to Whitstable Castle, where we managed to get a few shots in the gardens.
Anna and Jack Winter Wedding at Old Marlyebone Town Hall
Anna and Jack held their intimate winter wedding at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall in Central London.
I first met Anna, Jack and their family during the summer for an extended family photoshoot. They, and Jack’s siblings, were visiting their parents in Deal and wanted to mark the occassion with some relaxed portraits on the beach.
Fast forward five months, Anna dropped me a message saying they had just got engaged and were planning to get married within 6 weeks! Given how awesome these guys where, I jumped at the chance to travel upto London to cover their big day (despite the ongoing train strikes!)
These guys held their service at the iconic Old Marlyebone Town Hall in Central London with a really intimate and emotional service. With the snow starting to thaw outside, I had a few minutes to get some shots of the newly weds, before we travelled across the city in a vintage bus.
The reception was held at Coachmakers Arms. where I captured the formal group shots and some candid moments between family members and friends, with the coverage finishing as everyone sat for their meal.
“First of all - if you’re looking for a photographer, you’ve found the right one - you don’t need to look any further! We had family photos taken with Matt in Deal this summer and he did an incredible job photographing 4 different family groups including 5 children, a baby and a dog! We were so happy with the photos that, when we decided to get married this December, we didn’t hesitate to contact Matt. He was happy to come up to London to capture our intimate wedding and choosing Matt as the photographer was the best wedding decision that we made. He was so calm, professional, funny & organised, and all of our guests commented on what a pleasure he was to have around on the day. We only had 36 people and Matt just fitted in so well and was totally discreet. He sent us some sneak peaks the same day as our wedding and then the whole edited album back in a few days! We are absolutely delighted with all of the photos, they capture the joy and emotion of the day so well and we feel very lucky to have these beautiful shots to treasure. Thank you so much Matt, and we can’t wait to see you again for more family photos in the future!”
Emily and Luey's Wedding at Deal Town Hall

In early December, Emily and Luey held their intimate wedding at Deal Town Hall.
It was a stunning December day, with Emily and her bridal party getting ready at her nan’s farm in nearby Kingsdown.
It was an emotional service at the festivally decorated Deal Town Hall, followed by these guys braving the near-artic temperatures for some relaxed shots at the beach as the sun started to set.
A relaxed reception was held at the farm, with plenty of emotion being delivered during the speeches.
Coverage wrapped up with a sparkler exit (which is always great to do in the winter months) and some nighttime portraits.
Kayley and James' pre-wedding shoot at Botany Bay
The phrase ‘it is a small world’ is really suited for how I met Kayley and James; Kayley previously taught my son’s dance lessons and shortly afterwards, I photographed her mum’s wedding!

Following this, Kayley and James booked me to capture their special day, which is planned for St. Augustines in spring 2023. In advance of their big day, I met up with them at Botany Bay for a pre-wedding shoot.
Being mid-September, and given the fact it had rained relentlessly all week, I was a bit apprenhensive on the prospects of a late summer golden hour but we were absolutely blessed with the weather!
We spent an hour or so with them along the Kent coastline, capturing some really relaxed portraits as the sun started to set.
I can’t wait to see these guys next April for their special day, but in the meantime, here are a few of my favourites from this session!

These guys held their service outside, with the sun coming out just in time, which was followed by a drinks reception in the venue’s garden.
Following the wedding breakfast, and some cracking speeches, we headed to a nearby orchard for some relaxed newly wed shots.
Once we were back, the party was in full swing, with some great moves being shown on the dance floor!

With their closest family and friends attending, these guys tied the knot during an emotional service and following some relaxed group shots, they headed over to the Bell Hotel for a drinks reception.
Whilst the guests enjoyed the stunning weather, we headed over to a nearby park for some relaxed portraits.
“I can’t recommend Matt enough. From the pre chat to the day it’s self. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed.
We only had a small wedding with just 3 hours coverage…. But wow! The photo’s are amazing and I honestly can’t believe how many there are for just a few hours coverage.
I love all the relaxed, natural and causal shots of everyone with just a handful of the ‘normal family wedding posed photos’
I was so anxious about having to go off an have the couple shots…but it was so much fun, we got to enjoy sometime just us & laughed so much and that was down to Matt.
All I wanted was just one picture that I loved & there are so many more.
They are just perfect & all that we could have asked for.
Extremely professional, unobtrusive and very friendly. He defo made our day even more special.”

I really think this beach is Kent’s best kept secret and I always find myself convincing couples and families to hold shoots there.
We caught-up just before sunset and we had the perfect evening for a relaxed walk around the beach, capturing some shots at key spots.

Holly turned up to the Church in style, arriving by horse and carriage, whilst the service was full of emotion, tears and laughter. The day was extra special, as after the service, Holly and Sam had their little girl Christened.
Following the service, these guys held their reception across the road at the Smuggler’s Inn, whilst we sneaked out at sunset for some relaxed golden hour portraits.
The day finished with the guests dancing to Holly’s Uncle’s band, the Broadway Band!

After the formalities, we captured a few group shots outside the location, which was followed by a relaxed walk along Deal seafront. The weather was perfect, with the odd cloud present, to create the perfect lighting for some creative and relaxed portraits along the seafront.

Lydia and Daisy's Marquee Wedding in Canterbury
Lydia and Daisy held their wedding at Lydia’s Nan’s private farm on the outskirts of Canterbury. Tying the knot officially in the week at the local registry office, the couple held an emotional service in the stunning gardens of this farmhouse, with Lydia’s brother acting as the registrar.

The property has been used as a wedding venue for generations in the family, just adding to the emotions of this fantastic day (there were a lot of tears!).
Following the service, these guys held their reception in the gardens, with Italian streetfood being served to the guests. When it comes to these speeches, despite photographing a large number of weddings, I have never seen so much emotion! The tears, the belly laughs (particularly thanks to Daisy’s brother’s epic speech) and more tears!.
As the sun started to set, we explored the wider grounds, including a local orchard and cornfield, to capture some golden hour portraits.
“Matt is amazing!
My wife and I booked Matt to be the photographer for our wedding and we’re so glad that we did! Matt was absolutely amazing. He was so professional, polite and easy to work with. He went the extra mile to make sure we got the perfect pictures and we absolutely did. He captured the vibe and energy of the wedding perfectly. We didn’t want many formal photos and wanted the majority of the photos to be candid. He did this to an absolute T! Matt didn’t pressure us to pose or be anyway. The photos we have are so natural and exactly what we wanted.
Thank you so much for capturing our day Matt and we would recommend you to anyone!”

Claire and Adam held their special day with their closest friends and family at the Secret Gardens, situated just on the outskirts of Ashford.
Following bridal prep at the stunning Five Bells Inn, these guys held a small service in the tranquil and colourful gardens of the venue.
The weather was perfect for this and shortly afterwards, everyone was seated in the Glass House (my personal favourite spot at this venue) for an afternoon tea.
As the sunset, everyone enjoyed these idealic gardens, whilst I managed to grab the couple for a short, yet relaxed, newly wed session.
“Matt’s photos from both our engagement shoot and our wedding look fantastic! We were both nervous about having our photo taken and Matt really helped us to relax and have fun. Everyone commented on the day how lovely he was and it was a source of much fun trying to spot which bush or chair he was hiding behind to make sure he captured everything as candidly as possible! The whole day went by in such a blur so it’s amazing to have so many gorgeous photos of all the special moments to look back on. Thank you Matt, we would recommend you to anyone!”

With the sun beaming all day, we had the perfect summer’s afternoon for everyone to enjoy the venue’s gardens and outside games, including a few rounds of mini golf.
Furthermore, this one of the most relaxed and chilled weddings I have had the pleasure to capture, which mean’t I could focus on documenting real moments as they unfolded.
The day was full of emotion, with plenty of tears during the service and speeches, whilst the Best Men treated everyone to an interesting slide show involving Jordan…
Following the first dance, we had the most perfect sunset and quickly headed over to a nearby orchard, to capture some relaxed and cinematic portraits.

I recently had the pleasure of capturing Reginald’s Christening in St Andew’s Church in Deal, Kent.
This is the second time I’ve photographed at this church, which is a stunning venue, packed with decor representing the town’s naval history and fantastic directional light from stain glass windows.
Tip toeing around the church, I provided documentary coverage, followed by some group shots in the church grounds. Following this, we went to the nearby rugby club for the reception, where I continued with natural documentary coverage.
